Derp . . . and a dare-type-thing.

Derp is my new favourite word. I mean, seriously, it's just awesome and you can use it any time you want and it makes sense (no it doesn't).

Anyway, update time! I'm currently at 13,405words  (thought it was 13,800 or something but whatever) and it is 2:45 p.m., so by tonight I'm hoping to have 15,000+. If I don't reach that word count then I will make a post saying that anyone who comments on this post gets to ask me one question. Any one question. And I shall have to answer with total truth.

But that's only if I fail to meet 15k. So, I hope I don't. I hate personal questions, but that's why I'm making this dare-challenge thing. So that I know I have to reach 15,000 words. Mwahaha, I hate myself for doing this but I also love myself for being so clever.

Anyway. So, right now Izaac has helped "rescue" Annabelle (best friend) and her mother from Officials (government peeps) and he totally forgot that he left his five-year-old brother outside after he pushed an Official. So that's bad news for Darren. *SPOILER ALERT SKIP TO NEXT PARAGRAPH IF YOU DON'T WANT A SPOILAH * Darren is probably going to be killed. :c poor boy.

Okay, so that's it for now. I shall leave thou with a very short excerpt:

Annabelle rushed over, tears brimming her eyes. She was usually so strong. Then again, being attacked by Officials trying to take your mother probably does affect you. “Izaac, you can’t go out there. It’s probably already been spread that you hit an Official.” Annabelle kept running her hands through her hair, pacing back and forth and bending over every few seconds like she was going to throw up. “This is messed up. This is so messed up. It’s not going to blow over. Not ever. Izaac, they’ll find us if we hide. We’ll be thrown outside the Wall. What then? We’ll all die!”

10,000 at Midnight

I reached 10,000 words in BLIND at the exact dot of midnight. Now, I don't know what you think of that, but I think it's . . . magical. It was amazing, looking down at the clock as it turned 00:00 and looking at my word count as I stopped typing, and it tallying up to 10,000.

In case you don't understand, 10k and midnight equals a very happy Sam indeed. Oh, yes, yes, yes. Also, I think that this novel (which is meant to be book one in a trilogy) is going to be well over 50k. At least by 10,000. That also makes Sam happy as Gepard Valk was only, like, 50,208 or something like that. I was disappointed that I could barely write the minimum for a novel.

I'm not sure what to talk about now . . . um. Oh! Izaac is the best character that's ever come to me. He is literally his own person. I do not control him. He makes his own decisions, and I'm really happy because, unlike Gepard Valk, I don't have to come up with the story. Izaac and all the other side characters do it for me. And, omigosh, the pace that I'm going at is perfect! Usually, when I write I go straight into the main plot and can't write that much before said story would be over. But with BLIND, I'm at page 30 (40 in actual printed-and-bound book) and there's been hint type things at what's to come, but it hasn't gone zoom! I think that soon Izaac will be leaving the City, which is just the start of the main plot. I might wait 'til I've written to about 40/50 pages in the word document.

But still.

Oh, and my word count: 10,130. Only 2, 773 words until I catch up with Camp NaNo! I can totally do this.

See/blog to you soon!

I'm Catching Up!

As you know, yesterday I was at something like 5,500 words with NaNoWriMo. I'm just going to call it nano from now on because I'm lazy. I'm not even going to capitalize. Hey, all writers are lazy . . . actually, that could be just me. Whatever, I'm unique.

Anyway, today I got bored with the interwebz. Yeah, I don't know how, either. But I did. So I closed Mozilla and my word doc was open. And, don't you know it, Izaac pops into my head, carrying on with his story. I didn't even know what was going on before he was halfway done walking miles. I had to write furiously to catch up with him. By the way, Izaac, I both love and hate you for that.

Word count right now: 8,044.

Yeah. And that was in, like, an hour and a half? About that. Amazing. I'm so proud. This story just clicks, y'know? I bet I won't be saying that next week. Week two is always the worst. Urgh, I don't wanna have to do week two. Hey, wait a second, week two starts today. Well, not for me. Because week two starts at about 10k. I don't have 10k. But I expect to/hope to/probably won't reach 9k or so tonight. This blogging is taking up that time.

Just goes to show how much I love you all. I'm taking time out of my busy writing session to blog for you about my writing session.

Oh, and also, I got a plot bunny. (-_-) I know, right? Just in the middle of writing a novel that took ages to get the plot for, and another novel plot comes to me. But I think I can ignore it. It's General Fiction anyway, which isn't my type of genre. So, I probably won't end up doing it. Though, I might, because I have an itch to write G-F. Blah.

Anyway, I should get back to writing.

See/Blog to y'all tomorrow!

The Sleepless Writers

So, I recently heard about this group called The Sleepless Writers. Cool name, right? Right. Well anyway, I checked out their Facebook page (link) and they seem really awesome. I mean, a group of writers who don't sleep seem like my kind of people.

And they're holding a giveaway (link) in which you can win a $20 voucher for book/ebook, $15 Barnes and Nobles, critiques and copy edits etc. Anyway, that's pretty awesome, so I'm going to enter. I think you should, too.

This was part of my entry, so yeah . . . Um, updates on BLINK/NaNo: 5,781. I am a failure. (_ _) Don't look at me.

Goodbye.

Novel #2

I'm starting my second serious novel. My first novel that I completed was an urban fantasy, and look back now . . . it was terrible. But, now I'm back and using Camp NaNoWriMo to help!

My new work is a dystopia, because I felt like writing a dystopia.

Well, you see, I started writing this post (those first two paragraphs) before NaNo, and now we're six days in. I can tell you I am failing NaNo miserably and I'm very mad at myself. Why can't I commit? I mean, last NaNo I wrote 30,000 words in ten days! This time I haven't even reached 5,000 by day 6. This upsets me thoroughly and that's about to change, I can tell you that.

Anyway, back to what this post is meant to be about: BLIND.

BLIND is a Science-Fiction (Dystopia), Action-Adventure. You can find what little advertisement I have for it on the Projects page. Right up the top. See it? You do? Yeah, well click that after you finish reading.

This is probably going to be a really short post. Anyway, the main character of BLIND is Izaac. He doesn't have a surname. No one in the world of BLIND does. Surnames don't exist. Why? I don't know . . . I'll figure it out though, I assure you! Anyway, I love Izaac. He's such a brilliant character. Why? He's not flat! He has traits and he's not Bella Swan! I would put a smiley here, but I don't feel like it. Also, he is cute. I made him in an Anime dress-up game. I am ashamed, yet proud. I would show you Anime-Izaac but I didn't save it.

Oh well.

Now, I believe this concludes the post. *jumps back into word doc of BLINK to reach 5k*
